A Brave and Beautiful Evening | The Youb Family Photoshoot

This session means a lot to me.
I’ve known Kristina since I first became a nurse 12 years ago. She was one of my very first mentors—and one of the kindest, most joy-filled people I’ve ever worked alongside. So when she reached out recently to see if I would have time for a family photoshoot before she starts a new round of treatment, my answer was an immediate yes.
Her daughter was home from ballet school. Time was short. And this window, this in-between moment before chemo began—this was the time to gather close, hold each other tight, and press pause on everything else.
Though the clouds rolled in and cut our session a little short, the images we captured are full of light—because that’s just who Kristina is. No matter what life throws her way, she meets it head on, with grace and a radiant smile that says, “We’re not done fighting.”
Team Youb is facing a hard season—but they’re doing it with strength, unity, and so much love.
It was an honor to document that love. An honor to witness the way this family shows up for one another.
Kristina, thank you for letting me be part of this moment. Thank you for your courage, your presence, your joy. I’ve looked up to you for years, and I still do.
To anyone walking through something hard right now—may this be a reminder that even on the edge of the unknown, there is still beauty to be found. Still light. Still love worth pausing for.
We’re cheering you on, Team Youb.
