Two Setups, One Sweet Session | Elijah’s Newborn Photos

ree

This session felt like a creative turning point for me.

It was my little sister’s first baby—my nephew Elijah—and we ended up using our aunt’s guest room as the setting. It turned out to be perfect. There was beautiful natural light, a clean layout, and enough room to create both a lifestyle setup and a mini posed setup. For the first time, I got to blend both worlds in one session.

Mom and Dad snuggled Elijah on the bed while I captured the soft, everyday moments between them—and then we transitioned into a gentle posed setup with blankets and wraps. It felt cohesive, unrushed, and deeply personal.

Some of the photos from this session still live in my client experience guide and portfolio today. That’s how much I love them.

This session taught me that creating beautiful newborn images isn’t about having a studio. It’s about having thoughtful light, a calm approach, and room to honor both story and simplicity.
