Sun, surprises & sweet smiles | The Hiltz Family Photoshoot

This session wasn’t quite what any of us expected.

A last-minute location change (thanks to melting snow and lakes of puddles) meant we had to pivot—and fast. We ended up in a setting that’s completely opposite of how I usually shoot: full sun, no shade, and a lot of light bouncing off the water. Not ideal for littles or soft light lovers like me.

But here’s what I’ll say: the Hiltz kids were absolute troopers. The middle one kept me on my toes (you know the wild card in every family? Yep, that’s her!), but in between the wiggles and snacks and bright sun, we found some truly sweet moments.

Not every family photoshoot goes perfectly. But even the imperfect ones can hold joy—and this family has plenty of it.
